Nobody Expects a Perfect Expert
Have you had a long desire to succeed online, but find something in your mindset is holding you back? Sometimes itís sheer confusion over what to do, but many times itís self-intimidation.
You look around at all of the expertise and it feels like you pale in comparison to some of the so-called gurus who are dominating in your niche. But the reality is, nobody expects a perfect expert.
In fact, whether itís the weight loss niche or success ñ or something like parenting, it often helps a consumer to follow someoneís journey as a beginner and through the entire time theyíre evolving into someone with more knowledge to share.
Itís less intimidating to the visitor of your blog when youíre not a perfect person ñ when you can show failures and how you overcome obstacles. They appreciate those transparent moments because itís exactly what theyíre going through.
Some gurus position themselves to be flawless. They make it sound like they came online, and the very first business model they tried resulted in millions of dollarsí worth of income immediately.
When a consumer sees that, and theyíre struggling, it makes them feel hopeless and defeated. If you share your journey of ups and downs, then suddenly itís not so harrowing anymore ñ thereís a light at the end of the tunnel.
Remember that your current knowledge is probably a step above what someone else knows at this time. For example, maybe you donít know the ins and outs of how to do a launch funnel yet, but you do know how to install WordPress.
Someone else might be clueless about that, so thatís something you could share. Or in other niches, maybe youíre still overweight, but youíve lost your first 20 pounds, and that can help someone else who is feeling hopeless with their health situation.
Youíre never constrained by your current knowledge, either. You can level up and try new ways of doing things, and educate yourself continually as you share what you learn.
People who do this ñ who strive to better their own insight ñ are the best kinds of leaders because theyíre always practicing what it is theyíre teaching to others. Itís motivating to watch it unfold, and no one will shame or embarrass you for not knowing everything there is to know about your niche on day one. Keep that in mind the next time youíre plagued with self doubt or comparing yourself to someone who only puts forth a perfect persona.
