Average performance versus peak performance – it makes the difference between average success and true success. How so? What’s the single biggest differentiator?
EVERYTHING in the Universe is made of energy.
Your thoughts while reading this – pure energy.
Ever seen a successful person without energy? Energy is the trademark of successful people.
If you don’t have energy… try being nice.
Yet the world goes bananas over… time. As if time, not energy, were the key or the secret to success.
Time management is a gadzillion dollars industry. People wear watches, buy time-saving devices galore and attend time management seminars… despite the fact that everybody already has all the time there is. And despite the fact also, that no-one can perform the miracle of more time.
We humans have been making it a habit of chunking time into years, days, hours and milli-seconds for so long – we’ve lost all perspective. Or as the saying goes, can’t see the forest for all the trees anymore.
Fact is, the biggest differentiator in peoples’ lives and success is not in how they manage their time, but in how they manage their energy. Energy, not time, is the key to earning all the money you want.
I’d love to see the world evolve to where people wear energy-watches on their arms, in lieu of time-watches.
If you shift from time management to energy management – it will rock your life, your relationships, your performance and your wellness. Achieving mastery of your energy will enhance your chances of producing happy outcomes in your life – and in the lives of others.
See – the only way to deal with life is to respond. Responding to life’s opportunities and challenges is best achieved with vibrant energy. (I am NOT talking energy high on caffeine, or on energy drinks, or on drugs legal or otherwise).
As luck would have it, energy is everywhere and of unlimited supply.
Of course, you can’t have all the energy there is. Where would you put it?
But you can have all the energy you can handle. The only requirement – you have a choice to make. Fortunately the choice is a no-brainer.
Choose the good energies and avoid the bad.
Simpler said than done… but where there is a will, there’s a way.
Energy comes in PHYSICAL and NON-PHYSICAL form.
PHYSICAL energy is a function of your breathing, eating and drinking, sleeping, energy-management and fitness.
NON-PHYSICAL energy – emotional, mental and spiritual – depends in part on your physical energy, but is essentially as function of what you focus on in life. What you focus on, is a function of your dreams, goals, values and beliefs.
Each form of energy is critical. None is sufficient by itself. All forms of energy are intertwined and impact each other.
I’ll explore this in more depth in future articles about energy management, self-mastery and peak performance. In the meantime – to know more right away, visit my website.
