Why is it so important for your business growth to stay connected with your existing clients? If people do not hear from you they can not forget about you.
You may have heard that it costs more to acquire a new customer than it does to retain one. That is true, but here is something you may not have considered.
Relationship building may feel important but not urgent. Have you thought of the cost of loss opportunity, the cost of lost connection?
As a busy entrepreneur or business owner you are often dealing with urgent matters that are right in front of you. You are a heart-centered business owner and know it is important to connect with your existing clients but you can not find the time.
There was a woman who signed up for a wellness program and received very personalized attention when she began. The distributor coached her at the start to ensure she was purchasing the right products. The client was thrilled!
Three years later she is still purchasing products but has never received personal contact from that distributor again. She has also met other people who offer the same or similar product. She is now wondering whether she should try something new.
96% of customers will leave not because the company did anything wrong but because they did not feel appreciated.
When was the last time that your paying clients received personal appreciation for working with you? They receive your emails and newsletters but are you making an authentic connection that would keep them coming back to you?
Here are 3 Tips for Quick & Easy Inspired Actions to connect and appreciate people in your business community.
1. Send a Birthday Card
Find out the birthdays of your clients. Let them know you enjoy celebrating birthdays and would like to remember them on their special day.
When a new client or team member comes on board ask them when their birthday is and include it in a follow-up system. There are card sending systems, on-line reminder systems and good old fashioned date calendars that can help you with this.
Send birthday cards to your past clients as well. You want them to remember you and work with you again and make referrals to your business.
2. Celebrate the Anniversary of Doing Business Together
It has been a year already since your client has been working with you or purchasing your products. How has that made a difference in their life?
If you are a coach, healer, or involved in the health and wellness industry congratulate your client on their commitment. Remind them how far they have come and how much you appreciate working with them.
3. Send a Thank You Card
One of the most memorable cards to receive is the "just because I appreciate you" card. It really makes a lasting impression when it is not expected.
Sending cards outside of traditional holidays makes you stand out from everyone else. Create your own celebration card during a time of year that is specific to you and your business.
For example, if you are a relationship coach you may want to celebrate Valentines Day. If your business is cyclical send your impression campaign during your slow season and it can help improve your revenue and / or referrals.
Whatever you do, keep connected with your clients and let them know that you appreciate them.
